Transgender Articles, Resources, and Essays

Welcome to the Transgender Area at d332.com While I am a non-op trans*-identified girl, I feel it is important to work together as a transgender community to promote understanding, acceptance, and equal treatment within and for the group. I have written essays about the nature of transvestism within the transgender umbrella, and I have also spoken at gatherings and coming-out weeks at universities. I don't make any distinction between one group of trans* folk from the other. No group has more of an access or a right to own the transgender label because they have access to a procedure or a treatment. Not only does this form of validation separate, it also delays unity from happening. Labeling may help one to form a more coherent self-image, but it should, by no means, be used to exclude. Let's learn from all the former fringe groups who have successfully gained a place in society and look out for each other. Best of luck and keep your hopes high!

Lifesaving Transgender Websites (June 9, 2009)

June 9th, 2008 Email This Article

I normally don’t spend much time on transgender-focused websites. For the path I am taking (non-hormones, non-surgical (the big one)), much of the information only applies to a small degree. Once in a while, I do need to look up topics such as work and ID issues. When I do, the first [...]

When I was growing up, my favorite record to check out from the library was a record pressed by Philips called The Gregorian Chants of the Benedictine Mons of the Abbey of Saint-Mauries & Saint Maur, Clervaux. Every time I checked out that record, I looked at the library card and it had my [...]

Women May Make Men Go To War, But Only Men Know How To Find Peace Among Themselves (updated: August 21, 2007)

August 20th, 2007 Email This Article

The most astonishing highlight of reading transgender personals arrives when I find the single girl who lists as one of her demands from the man she seeks: “must beat up and silence anyone who looks at me the wrong way in public.” I’ve even come across girls who have gone so far as to [...]

The Art of Not-Passing (Edition 2008) (Update: 7-24-2007)

I like to talk about a topic that’s close to my heart. I’ve given a few public talks on this topic over the years. Passing (the ability to go into the public undetected, or in trans-speak: without getting read) appears to be the highest accomplishment among the girls and boys. At this [...]
